I just setup a new Windows 2025 Standard server and tried to install VeeamAgentWindows_6.3.1.1074. Unfortunately after accepting EULA the installation starts, shows “migrating previous configuration” (which is a little bit strange, since this is a new Windows machine) and is then stuck at "Installing Veeam agent for Microsoft Windows".

C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Endpoint\DatabaseMigrationLog shows:

Last line looks like it was cut off?

Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Not sure on this one as the log entries don't say much.  Might be best to contact support for this one as Windows 2025 is supported.

maybe you have created VM form template, where was veeam preinstalled?

It is a bare metal and fresh install.

Even after deleting the programfiles folder and checking AppData, “migration” pops up for a split second. Maybe this is just a placeholder and has nothing to do with it.

i would suggest to check, if some services are installed, uninstall them and find directories and delete them, reboot server and try again

Already did that, but no luck.

Thanks anyways, I opened up a ticket.

Hmm...curious on this one. If possible, please share what Support finds.

Thanks @MariaMiller

I think I found the issue. And it is not really related to Veeam.

Even though this is a brand new install, it struggles to install a Windows Update.

That Windows Update is an update for Microsoft Visual C++. It gets stuck. I can manually download that KB, the installation still gets stuck. I can reset Windows Update, dism, scf, nothing changes. I can also try to uninstall C++, but guess what? That uninstall also gets stuck 😀 Arrghh Windows…

So when I try to install Veeam, it tries to install some Visual C++ stuff and also gets stuck.

Glad you found an answer but still not installed though.  😞

Thanks for sharing the issue @MariaMiller

@MariaMiller how did you solve it?
